Encaustic Paintings

Encaustic art is created using pigmented beeswax that is melted and manipulated using a variety of techniques. I began experimenting with this art form during the lock-down of COVID. I'd sneak into the (officially) closed building that housed my studio, close my door, and experiment with irons, heat guns and butane torches, dripping, layering, and blending the colors. I created hundreds of small compositions. A few of them are displayed here.
